Overview

This unit will build upon the strengths of Stewards Market and King Lizzy to engage a small

group of teens in an interdisciplinary six week program that develops the knowledge and skill

base of key concepts in two areas----business and entrepreneurship and art & design.

Participants will use these concepts to develop their own creative product, from brainstorming

to execution that embodies the core values of social enterprise. This curriculum will utilize the

21st Century Framework developed by educators nationwide to prepare students to “compete

in a global economy that demands innovation… by fusing the three Rs and four Cs (critical

thinking and problem solving, communication, collaboration, and creativity and

innovation). Through exploration of a core subject area---- “Financial, Economic, Business &
